South African ILCOR Meeting: New guidelines expected in 2010 April 10, 2007

Last month the ILCOR (International Liaison Committee On Resuscitation) held a 2-day meeting in Sun City (South Africa) comprising discussions around the 2010 consensus on CPR science review. It was agreed, that there will be used a similar format to that leading to the latest guidelines: An international review of resuscitation science followed by the publication of council specific guidelines. Furthermore, David Zideman (Chairman of the ERC) and Bob Hickey were declared as the Co-Chairs for the Dallas „Consensus on Science Conference“ taking place in Dallas in 2010.
The next ILCOR meeting will be held in Orlando in November 2007. Let´s hope that the ERC Congress in Ghent will provide an interesting insight into the new trends in resuscitation…
